Thanks to everyone who took part in the making of the St. Patrick's Day Float. It looked great on the day. The pupils had a great day and they loved taking part in the Parade. We won the Café Royal Perpetual Trophy and the school prize of €100. Well done to all involved.

Well done to Mary who represented the school in the Easons Spelling Bee competition. The competition was held in Tullamore Educate Together N.S where 21 spellers battled it out to become the County Offaly winner. It was a very tough competition and we are very proud of Mary's efforts. Well done.
The pupils in the junior room made their own brown bread. They worked together to measure all the ingredients and follow the recipe. Everyone got to enjoy fresh brown bread and jam for lunch. Well done.
In geography we were learning about different habitats within the school grounds. We discussed what types of bugs we might see and where we might find them. We decided to take advantage of the fine weather and go on a bug hunt and the main bug we wanted to find was the woodlouse. There were lots of stones and flower pots gently overturned and we saw lots of mini beasts. We wanted to take a closer look at the woodlouse so we gently put three woodlouse into clear containers so we could look at them under the microscope. We also got to see some slugs and snails under the microscope.
Thank you to our two sixth class pupils for making pancakes for the rest of the senior room and thank you Tiana for bringing in pancakes for the junior room. They went down a treat. |
